Student Groups Flier

Student group programs are available daily. There is an entrance fee of $1 for walk-ins, $5 per car, $10 for sedan/van/limo, $20 for mini-buses and motor coaches are $40 each. (Entrance fee needs to be paid in cash; sorry no credit cards or personal checks are accepted.)

Please allot 2 hours for hiking to and from the summit. Groups must be accompanied with adult chaperone(s).

We encourage your student group’s arrival time to come in the slower afternoon periods, between noon to 4pm.

Students groups must be affiliated with an educational institution, ranging from kindergarten to college grade levels.

Please encourage the students to bring:

  • Water
  • Sunscreen and/or cap
  • They should dress appropriately for hiking in warm weather
  • Comfortable walking shoes.

Personalized "I Hiked Diamond Head" ID Tags

Student groups now qualify for a 50% discount on personalized ID tags for student groups planning to hike Diamond Head. Each ID tag can be personalized with five lines of print each with 15 spaces on the line. Samples of the ID tag can be viewed on the second page of this flier (PDF).

Student groups qualify for a 50% discount on the official State of Hawaii “I Hike Diamond Head” Certificates. Our official State of Hawaii “I Hiked Diamond Head” certificates are available in English, Japanese & Mandarin and retail for $4.95. Students can pay direct at a special price of $2.50 each. (No tax applies).

Official Diamond Head Hiking Narrated Tour - Just $4.00

Student groups are encouraged to purchase our new Diamond Head State Monument Hiking Narrated Tour. The new Diamond Head Hiking Narrated Tour is a joint project between the Department of Land & Natural Resources and Pacific Historic Parks. Acoustiguide, one of the world’s largest and best known audio tour producers, has been contracted to create this new exciting 60 minute Diamond Head Tour, and it retails for just $4.00 each. This incredible audio tour focuses on the history, culture, geography, flora and fauna of the destination. (This audio tour is perfectly planned and does not add any additional charter time on your group’s visit to the Diamond Head State Monument).

Diamond Head State Monument: Open daily, 365 days a year, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., including holidays.

We recommend that your group consider coming to the Diamond Head State Monument in the slower afternoon periods of the day. Last opportunity for your group to hike the trail is 4:30 p.m.

Visitor Center

Student groups qualify for a FREE gift coupon and 10% discounted shopping at the Diamond Head Visitor Center retail store. Here your students will discover the largest selection of official Diamond Head logo merchandise at very affordable prices. This retail store is conveniently located at the beginning of the hiking trail to the Diamond Head summit. To receive your group's free gift coupons, simply ask any staff member at the Diamond Head Visitor Center.

Diamond Head Visitor Center is open daily from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., including holidays.

The Diamond Head Visitor Center is a partnership between the Division of State Parks and Pacific Historic Parks. This retail store (and the online store) is the only location in the world to purchase the official State of Hawaii, Diamond Head logo merchandise.

Please support our Visitor Center, proceeds helps supports the interpretative and educational activities of the Diamond Head State Monument.
